About Essential Soccer

The Essential Soccer coaching company grew in the mid 1990's from an idea to provide aspiring young players access to a unique training experience.  That idea has expanded and blossomed into one of the most innovative soccer coaching companies in the land, offering training that is unlikely to be found anywhere else to this day.

Essential Soccer has chosen to slowly grow to ensure that we get the right coach to teach your child. All of our Professional Coaches are steeped in soccer knowledge and have substantial playing experience.  More importantly they have gained quality qualifications and have an in depth understanding of Essential Soccer's coaching curriculum.

By public demand, Essential Soccer is actively seeking the soccer stars of tomorrow. Parents have demanded that we expand the Tiny Touches program, which has proved so successful in Delaware and New Jersey, into your area.  This is a fun, games based, program designed to improve each participant’s motor skill flexibility, balance and awareness.

We are sure you have seen other programs offered so what makes ours
different?

First, this is a program designed by a "soccer" person with a lifetime of experience playing and coaching.  Other programs are designed and run by well meaning parents as a means to occupy a child’s time. That’s a great idea but what a wasted opportunity to achieve more.  Soccer is no different than school; young players must be progressed at the right time. Once kids can walk they can learn to dribble a ball. Maneuvering the ball is the challenge, not running.  Falling down is fun too.

We have seen programs where players under 7 are taught positions and had their free expression restricted. Later on they are shells of players they should have become and are soon lost to soccer. Our program does not inhibit your child’s freedom. We insist on the use of the correct size of ball, relative to your child’s size and weight.

Our program is specifically designed to encourage enjoyment, expression, movement, thinking and communication. It is also very safe and disciplined.  Kids are expected to respect their coach, teammates and the game.
