The three R's (Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho) all came from Futsal.
The Brazilian soccer super stars have been using Futsal to develop their flair, touch and amazing skills. Soccer's best kept secret is, at last, being discovered by the rest of the world. The heart of Futsal is the smaller, heavier and with reduced bounce special ball. It is designed to force the player to use skills to control it rather than the ball's bounce to move it.
Why should I play Futsal?
If you want to work on your footwork, passing and conditioning, it's a great way to train for your club or high school's outdoor soccer season. By playing Futsal, your trapping, ability to move without the ball in close spaces and positional defending will also greatly improve.
Soccer is not an 11 vs. 11 game, but a series of 5 vs. 5-or less- games all over the field. In other words, outdoor soccer is 25 or 30 Futsal games put onto one field.

Futsal (Five-A-Side Soccer)
What is Futsal?
Futsal is the indoor version of association football (soccer) that is officially sanctioned by football's international governing body, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Its name is derived from the Portuguese futebol de salão, and the Spanish fútbol sala, both of which mean hall football.
Futsal is played between two teams of five players, one of which is the goalkeeper; in addition each team may have a number of substitutes. Unlike some other forms of indoor football, the field is delimited by lines, and not nets or boards which the ball may be played off. The ball used tends to be heavier so promotes better ball control skills as well as passing on the ground. Furthermore the smaller area of play further forces players to improve their skills and decision making.
